High Purity Ceramic Insulators for Mineral insulated Cable


A Mineral Insulated (MI) Cable is a metallic cable with ceramic powder insulation packed tightly around the inner wires. Insulators for use in Mineral Insulated Cable production go by many names including crushable insulators, swageable insulators, performs, beads, pellets, cores, or blocks. This is a uniquely engineered product which is designed to crush into a fine powder upon compression by modest forces.

  • 99.8%, 99.4%, and 96.4% MgO, or 99.99% Al2O3

MgO for Cartridge Heaters


OZARK is a newcomer to the commercial heater industry market, having spent the previous two decades on the exotic and high technical requirements of the high temperature measurement industry.

OZARK has recently completed the vertical integration of the extruded MgO product line with the introduction of the 96.4% MgO grade custom designed for the heater industry.

OZARK can offer all designs of high performance ceramic cores for cartridge, cable, and tubular heater applications. Most spacer designs are also available.

Hafnium Oxide Insulators High and Low Density


OZARK TECHNICAL CERAMICS developed the production of High temperature Hafnium Oxide Insulators to service new advancements in high temperature thermometry. Hafnium Oxide Insulators are also useful as a non-toxic alternative to beryllium oxides in existing applications. OZARK Hafnium Oxide Insulators are routinely used for applications to 2200 C.

Hafnium Oxide, or Hafnia (formula HfO2), is a very refractory high temperature material which may be considered an exotic material in the fabricated form. OZARK developed a fabrication process for Hafnia in the early 80's and has been a steady source of Hafnia extrusions into a limited customer base. The material has gained wide acceptance in the upper temperature with reported uses to 2500 C.

High Density Ceramic and Exotic Applications


High Density Magnesium Oxide
MgO ceramics have uses in extremely corrosive metallurgical applications because of the superior properties of MgO to resist attack. OZARK's crucible customers depend on this property of MgO. But high density MgO cannot be made by simple modification of low density MgO fabrication technology. OZARK can make high density MgO, by combining our casting technology with our extrusion ability.

High Density Aluminum Oxide: 96% and 99.6% Grade HUA
Our customers frequently have a need for companion parts made from high density Alumina to complement our regular low density components. OZARK can offer a high purity alumina product suitable for many limited applications.

  • Includes tube shapes to 1/2" OD and rods to 1/4" OD

MgO for Ultra High Pressure Geology Test Apparatus
MgO ceramics are used in high pressure test apparatus as a medium for enveloping the sample during the test. OZARK has supplied the ceramic materials to many prestigious laboratories since the late '80's.
